So it is that sometimes with utter disbelief that we see our competitors’ photographs.
We would like to share with you some of the most amazing ones we’ve come across…

I’m not entirely sure what to make of this photograph…
The sign seems to indicate that the plush comes from a non-smoking home, yet somehow I have a nagging feeling regarding the validity of this claim…

And I saved the best for last. Yes, it’s a NOVA plush bunny head.
But who is holding it? Look closely…

Quite some time now the internet market places, especially eBay, have been flooded by fake Chinese bootleg Inuyasha plushes.
For all you collectors out here let me quickly show what the rarest official Japanese plushes look like.
All of them were UFO Catcher plushes available to crane machines in Japan only and were made by Banpresto in 2002.

First of all there’s Sesshomaru, who is bootlegged on a massive scale on eBay.
Just do a search there for “Sesshomaru Plush” on eBay and you’ll see what I mean. There are some very ugly plushes out there.
Basically any plush which doesn’t look like the photo below is a Chinese fake.

Next up is Kikyo:

And last but not least there’s Koga:

Two Gekiganger III plush dolls!

This one was made by Movic.

The second one is part of a set of Nadesico UFO Catcher plushes by Sega in 1998.

Especially since recently many anime shops and eBay are overflowing with unofficial Chinese bootleg Naruto plushes I thought I’d publish this little guide to the ONLY official Japanese Sakura plushes out there.

First of all Banpresto has made two Naruto Sakura plushes.
These were UFO Catcher plushes, meaning they were only to be won as prizes for a limited period of time in crane machines in Japan (never outside of Japan).
Both were made in 2003 and are very rare, usually fetching around $100 each.

There’s the regular Sakura:

Then there’s a very limited edition plush by Japanese restaurant chain Hokka Hokka Tei.
This one is extremely rare and easily goes for $150:

Fumofumosan (or Fumofumo-san / Fumo Fumo San??) plushes have gained quite a cult status outside of Japan so I just had to get some!

They’re made by Shinada Company, and were designed by Atelier Toyoko.

There’s only one UFO-catcher series of Love Hina plushes out there; Keitaro’s dream series.

There are however two other officially licensed Japanese plushes out there which are very rare, Liddo-kun and Tama-chan.

These dolls are extremely rare, especially the Liddo-kun plush.
Unfortunately I have neither in stock anymore at the time of writing, but please visit my shop as I might get them in from time to time ^_^
